How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my life right is that I have built a house that I never dreamed I will own. My children are also schooling now and they eat good and enough food unlike before.

Givedirectly did so well in giving out transfers without any limitation on its usage. Everyone decides on what to do.

I used the second transfer that I received to buuilt a new house for my family. I also paid hospital bill and school feeds for my children. I used the remaining to buy food.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Now am a happy mother to see my children taking tea with milk and having my own cow which I milk and now I get money for use though the sale of milk.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I got message to my phone confirming that I had receive money from GD I felt so happy. I rose up early in the morning and ran to a nearby Agent and withdrew the money as I had no money at that time.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent part of the money which I got from GiveDiretly to pay school fees for my children. I spent some part to buy uniform for them and home clothes. I also spent some KES 35000 to buy lactating cow . The rest I spent on household items.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I having been desiring to own a dairy cow. Now that I will receive the transfer from givedirectly, this will be an opportunity to own one. I will sell milk and earn income and the remaining will be used by my family. This means my family's needs will be catered for.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening. Having dinner and chatting with my family makes me happy. This is the time we unite with my family after the day's work.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Getting a better job to sustain my family have been the biggest hardship in my life. The little I get working casually can hardly sustain my family's needs such as food and education. Moreover, I have been unable to increase the size of land under cultivation due to lack of inputs.
