How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer in that I could not have started an income-generating business and to also to buy a dairy cow.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by giving out unconditional cash to poor people to improve their standard of living. I do not find out what GiveDirectly did that did not well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spend I second transfer on to add stock to my business of groceries that I operate at home, I also paid school fees for my child who is in private school and the rest of the money I used it to buy sky blast, utensils, duvet, mattress, clothes and shoes.

The biggest difference in my daily life is the presence of a cow in our household.

When I received the money I really became happy that God was finally answering my prayers.

I spent the money I received from GD in purchasing a heifer with 30000 KES, added stock to muy business and also bought foodstuffs.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will transform my life for good. I will own a cow of my own that will feed my family and finance other household needs. I am a fruit vendor and this means I am going to improve my business in that I am planning to widen the scope of operation. I have a two-year old daughter and I want a good life for her ahead.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I spend my morning hours gathering items for my small business. It is until evening that I feel relaxed while engaging my customers. Talking to them while my business is booming makes me happy; this is the happiest part of my day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
After completing my primary school education in 2012, my parents refused to take me to secondary education under the guise of lack of finances. This was not true because my younger siblings have been taken through school. After that I would become a maid for the subsequent 4 years. This is the biggest hardship I have faced in my life. However, I would save the little I could get from the informal employment and now I have a small businesses of my own. I am a renown fruit vendor in the village.
