How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different from how it would have been had I not received the money in that if it was not for the money I would not be having a cow. I am hopeful that in the future after it has given birth I will have more cows. Aside from that it is a great source of income both from milk and, I can sell the the ones in future whenever in urgent need of money.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly does well by giving people money and allow them to make decisions on how to spend it. On the other hand, I have not seen any areas they are not good at. I would urge them to continue helping people.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
A bigger portion of the money I spent on my son's house. He is of age and I feel it will be more convenient for him to have a house. Him together with his siblings usually have to sleep in neighbour's houses but I find it insecure. I am therefore glad because I will be sure of whereabouts since we shall be sleeping in the same compound. Part of the money I spent on a cow for rearing. I am hopeful that in the future after it has given birth I will not only have more cows but I will not budget for milk too.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received a message in my phone and since I could not understand it, I requested my helper to check the contents. I was overwhelmed with joy when he informed me that I had received my transfer from GiveDirectly. I felt happy even as I began to fulfil my goals.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I was operating a food kiosk which was not doing well because I had used all my savings for medication for my husband. He passed on and I depleted my savings to cover for the funeral expenses. It was hard to revive my food kiosk since I was left with nothing. However, I am at peace now because my food kiosk is back to life after receiving the transfer. I bought adequate stock to operate with, and I am getting a good income which helps me to take care of my family's basic needs like food. Reviving my food kiosk is the biggest difference in my daily life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of the first transfer on building a house for my children. They did not have their own house to stay and they were forced to seek shelter elsewhere at night. I purchased enough building materials which include iron sheets, building poles and nails and built the house for them. In addition to this, I also bought sand and cement to renovate my living house. I am also operating a food kiosk which has now become my only source of income. Thus I also took a portion of the transfer and bought enough stock to operate with. It is now doing well and I am earning a good income from it. I can comfortably take care of my family's basic needs like foodstuffs.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means a source of capital for my small business. I'm planning to use 700 dollars from this donation to expand my small business. I operate a small hotel in Madzeni trading center. I'm planning to expand my business by increasing the stock and at the same time modify my business premise to a more desirable form so as to attract more customers. I'm also planning to increase the variety and quantity of meals I prepare so as to make desirable profits. The small business I run has been the source of income for my family and expanding the business will boost the income generating capability of my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning. Waking up seeing my family healthy makes me happy and I take time to thank God for awarding my family another beautiful day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship in my life is lack of enough money to sustain my family. As a widow, I have been struggling to raise my family since loosing my beloved husband. At times, the family lacks some important basic necessities of life such as food and clothing. In addition to this, my children are unable to proceed past secondary school education.
