What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer to buy timber, fascia board, clay and also paid laborers who were building my house. I bought food and other household goods which I did not have and the remaining amount, I spent to pay school fees for my child and also to buy a sack of maize for consumption
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I manged to pay school fees for my child who is in high school and also built a bigger house something that I would not have achieved with the transfer.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well in sending us money which has changed our living standards and moved as a step further. GiveDirectly should do follow-up visits to asses if indeed it was that the money was spent well and see what recipients has done .

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on buying 40 pieces of roofing iron sheets that I'll use to build a big and a better house as my current house is small and old. The remaining cash I spent on buying a bag of corn and other food stuff to feed my family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is owning the building material which has given me hopes of living in a big semi permanent house like other people in the village.

Our plan is to build another house, buy two bulls to help with ploughing our farm and use the rest to buy food for the family.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
Our proudest achievement was in the year 2004 when we got bumper harvest after planting rice which we sold and bought three cows currently under our care.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship is on making ends meet especially when it's off planting season,during this time not even casual jobs are available.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon when I'm resting after spending time in the farm. I call it my "me"time.
