What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means owning a house of my own. For the past two years, my spouse and I have been staying in a family house because we do not have enough funds to build a house of our own. The single room that we sleep in is not spacious enough for raising a family. I also feel very uncomfortable sharing a room with my kids. I intend to use this cash transfer to construct a house that will be able to accommodate us and also allow us to have privacy.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What brought joy and happiness in my life in the last six months is an assistance that I received from my mother. My spouse and I presently do not have any means of earning a stable income, which makes it very difficult for us to provide for our kids. We have been faced with this situation for the past two years. Two months ago, I received some money from my mother through my mobile money account which went a long way in securing food for us. I was very excited because it reduced my worries and also put smiles on my children's faces.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Food security is the major problem that we are currently facing. For the past two years I have not had a reliable source of income which makes it very difficult for me to meet the needs of my family. What we produce from the farm annually is not always enough to feed us. We have to sometimes seek assistance from friends and relatives which is very embarrassing.
