How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed. I now have a cow in my compound and crops in my farm. Farming & livestock are things that I like and I am happy to see the two done. I used to desire to plant crops and buy a cow but I couldn't due to lack of funds. Now I am a happy person, my family too. Thank you for the funds.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well to lift people out of hardship and poverty by sending them cash. We are thankful for this. I do not see something that GD is not doing well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of the second transfer that GiveDirectly sent me on agriculture. I planted tomatoes for sale. I bought seeds and paid labor & water for irrigation. The crops have now sprouted and I am hopeful for a good harvest in three months and an income thereafter. I have saved some cash too, so as to buy furniture and windows for the house we built prior to GD, but had not finished it due to lack of funds.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to buy a cow which I will be milking.I am very happy about this.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening. This is when the day's activities have come to an end and I can now relax.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life is lack of a source of income that will help me feed my children. The climate in this area is not favourable for growing crops and to add on that is the crop diseases that does not favour crop growing.Getting capital to start a business;which I think is the solution , has been very difficult.I really wish I had a business of my own.
