How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I used to live in a small grass-thatched house that would leak during the rainy seasons before receiving money from GD. The house itself was in a very dilapidated state and was quite an embarrassment to me considering that there were only a few of us living in such kind of houses in our village. I had already started saving for a new house but it was taking too long because of my low income. With the money, I was able to construct a much larger iron-roofed house which took away the biggest problem in life a the time.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I saved some of the money I was left with, and I wish to use it to start a second-hand clothes business. I have a friend who is into this business and he not doing so bad, that is the reason why I settled for it. I will also rely on him for guidance on where to get quality and affordable items that I can also sell at an affordable rate to my customers.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
After completing the construction of my new house, I was left with some money which I saved for future plans. I also gave some of the money to my wife who did not receive her own share because she did not have an ID at the time to start a business. The business is now doing well and the burden that fell on me as the sole income earner of the family has been taken away.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
With the business that I hope to start, I hope that in the next six months, I will be having more income than I am now and therefore, able to take care of my family's needs without any challenges.
