What did you spend your third transfer on?
i spent the larger part of my third transfer on buying 20 fishing net and now I am hiring them to other fishermen hence I am making profits of which I use to provide basic needs for my family. I also bought sofa set seat.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer in that I now have my own fishing nets hence I am hiring them to other fishermen who pay me thus the profits I make I use to provide basic needs for my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
What I like most about GiveDirectly is that it gives out money to individual households and not a group of people .I believe if we were to be given as a group I could not have gotten this money the same as the vulnerable individuals in my community. My greatest wish is that GiveDirectly could do door to door visitation to oversee the improvement we have achieved through GiveDirectly.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to buy sand, cement, timber, round poles, nails and iron roofing sheets which I will use to renovate my house. The remaining transfers will be used to pay school fees for my three children who are in secondary schools.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having started a small business selling chips at the lakeside. I usually get to give my spouse some little cash, which he usually saves and pays school fees for our children when the amount is enough.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face right now is lack of a sustainable source of income for myself and my spouse. We need to pay school fees for our children but due to our financial situation we are often unable to clear their fee arrears, we might have to force them to defer their studies until we can pay the fees.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon. This is when I am at the market selling chips to various customers, we often chat and whenever a customer is satisfied with the quality of my chips I often feel very happy.
