How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Gone to school.. have been at home for two years---happy that am in school........Improved my house,, water inside no more
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life?
My goal that I did not have before receiving the transfer is to start a new business where I sell milk. Currently I am depending on a small business where we sell milk with a friend and share the profit from the business at the end of the day. At times I do casual jobs to meet my basic needs. The income from the business and casual jobs is not enough to buy food. Starting my own business will therefore be a source of income to cater for my basic needs since I do not share the profit with anybody. I will therefore save part of the income from the business in table banking and I will use it to pay my school fees.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my most recent transfer to pay my school fees. I stayed at home for two years since my uncle who was paying my fees stopped to pay as he had to pay school fees for his children. I have been struggling to save the the money I get from casual jobs but was not enough to pay all my school fees. I was so happy when I received my transfer because I knew that I will go back to school. I also used part of my transfers to repair my house. I was living in an old house and during the rainy season the roof was leaking and it was very cold at night. I am now happy since I am living in a decent house and it is very warm.

Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
It has always been my desire to get a white-collar job to help me sustain my needs. Since I started receiving transfers from GD, I now want to study to get a well-paying job so that I can empower other vulnerable children in the slums by educating them.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
As a college student, there are lots of research work we do in school which are best done when one has access to a computer. Since I did not have one, I was forced to go to a cybercafe, spending a lot of money to get my work done. Now that I have my own laptop, I do my research on time, get time to consult with my colleagues and get the best result unlike before when I used to work alone in a cybercafe.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent the whole of my transfer on buying a laptop to help me in doing my school research and homework. I have been doing my schoolwork from cybercafe which has been very costly since I do not have any source of income.
Describe the moment when you started receiving transfers. How did you feel?
I was very happy and thanked God because I did not know I could get such amount of money at this time in my life.
