What did you spend your third transfer on?
I used a larger portion of the transfer to complete my house which I commenced building with the previous transfers. I purchased grains for family consumptuion. Apart from that, I paid my daughter in high school fee.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I get adequate food supply from my farm which I do irrigate with the generator I purchased with GD money. A part from that I now own a spacious house which accommodate all my belonging compared to the smaller house I had.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
What GD does well is that it help the community with free cash and expect nothing in return. For now I don't know what GD doesn't do well.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of my second transfer on buying a water pump for irrigating my garden since it is a business I had thought of for so long. I also bought 25 iron sheets and a steel door which I intend to use in constructing a new house for my family since my current house is small.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I used to buy vegetables but I don't any more, thus I save on that expense. I also sell the vegetables which has become a good source of income for my family.

I spent my first transfer to buy a mattress worth 2,500 KES for my children who were sleeping on the floor and used to be bitten by ants.I spent my remaining money on growing rice that will help with with fending for my family upon harvest.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
We are planning to spend our transfer on buying a water pump and pay for labour, so that we may improve our horticultural activities. We are also planning to spend part of the transfer on school fees for our children.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am proudest of is my little horticultural garden which supplies my family with fresh vegetables, and sometimes I sell some to get money.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship we are facing is lack of money to cater for our daily needs, because we don't have any meaningful job.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I am checking my garden and I am able to see that the vegetables are doing well.
