What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on completing the construction of my house which I had constructed halfway but put to a stand still when I ran out of funds. I also paid school fees for my children.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I had lost all hope of ever getting a house of my own since i couldn't save and construct with my small earnings however my life is different because I managed to construct my house with the transfers i received and fulfilled my long time dream.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GD does well by visiting our households in the village. They also do well by sensitizing us on how we could possibly utilise our transfers.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
Yes, bricks and school fees! I spent my first transfer on bricks worth 380.000UGX because my current house is very small, grass-thatched leaking and since this is a rainy season, we can't sleep if it rains at night. I want build a 2 bedroomed house with iron sheets. I also paid school fees worth 20.000UGX for my child
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was worried about the condition of my grasss-thatched house and in the midst of too much thoughts I receive this this money from GiveDirectly and i was happy and I started drawing pictures house my modern house will be looking like. I feel secure and happy.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on construction of a parmanent house. The current house leaks whenever it rains which puts my life at risk.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
I was able to grow maize which I sold last season and bought a mattress. I now sleep confirtably.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is the disability I have. Wherever I do a lot of work, I get pain in my legs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is afternoon hours. I find peace during this time after doing whatever I do to make ends meet.
