What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
I am planning to spend the first transfer to complete college fees for my son who is taking a wiring course. This will equip him with skills that will help him to earn a living for the family. I will also use USD 100 to buy medicine inorder to manage my condition because according to the doctor it has no cure but treatment sometimes help. The remaining amount will buy five goats which cost a total of USD 160. Once they multiple, I can sell and use the money for our needs. The remaining amount will help me to purchase household items such as bedding and furniture so that my house looks decent.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The news that Give directly was coming help us in our village brought extremely joy to me. I had been hearing for a long time and I thought that it was a rumor. When the neighbouring Villages received the transfer I begun to believe. I was thrilled with immense happiness when my village was called to attend a sensitization meeting because soon I will receive money.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenge that I am currently facing is lack of money to buy nutritious food inorder to address my health deficiency. I was diagnosed with scleroderma disease since last year. A rare condition that has resulted to chronic hardening and tightening of my skin and connective joints. I was advised by the doctor to eat nutritious food together with fruit and vegetable. The condition has left me with severe pain in my heart because I am no longer able to continue with my hawking businesses in the village. Consequently, Relying on my firstborn who works as a casual in a construction site. His wages are not sufficient for all the needs of the household because sometimes he does not get the job, Making the situation worse.
