Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My next goal is to construct a poultry house so that I would have a confined area to keep my chicken. This would enable me to carry out other farm activities and prevent my chicken from destroying my crops.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Late last year, I obtained a water tank on credit which I repay every month with part of the transfers which I received from Give Directly. In the last four months, I haven't been spending too much time fetching water from a river miles away from home. Nowadays when I am through with the farming activities I just walk to the water tap at my doorstep.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I believe that I would have constructed a good poultry house which I will be using to rear poultry. I would be financially stable since I would have started selling eggs. Eggs are on high demand and I will not even be going to the market to sell as the buyers come to collect at my doorstep. The money which I will generate from this farming will enable me to buy other necessities which we cant produce at home.

Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal for the next four months is to be able to build a new house. I plan to build a new house by accumulating enough money from the monthly transfers that I receive as well as other income generating activities that I run. I also plan to take another loan that will enable me realize this dream much earlier.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life that has occurred over the last four months is the fact that I can now pay school fees quite comfortably. Gone are the days when my children could be sent home for lack of school fees. I have also been able to pay the monthly charges of my water tank that I bought on credit. My life has changed for the better because of this. I am looking forward to building a new house since the one that we are currently staying in is a very small one that is worn out.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, my expectations are that I shall have started constructing my house as well as be in a position to continue paying school fees for my children and complete the payments for my water tank as well. I will be in a position to do all these once I take the loan to build my house and give my family a more decent place to stay in.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is different in that I am less worried about my children being sent away from school for lack of fees. I am also happy that I am empowered to save part of the money which I get to earn through casual jobs and right now I am planning to buy a water tank. We currently fetch water from quite a distance which is time consuming.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My goal as of now is to buy a water tank. I am currently saving towards this goal. I also want to buy a chicken mesh to build a poultry house which will later be one source of income for our family from the sale of eggs and meat.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am able to meet our daily basic needs such as food and other household requirements. Before, it was sometimes a challenge to make enough for our family especially during those days that I would depend on casual jobs. I am glad I no longer struggle as much as I used to, thanks to GiveDirectly.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to ensure we are living a more improved life. Once I have bought a water tank, I would want to build a better house for us. The one we currently live is quite small for our growing family and is sometimes uncomfortable. Besides this, it is also quite old. I expect our living standard to improve.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I no longer struggle so much in doing casual jobs in the village but rather devote most of my time on my farm. I also have peace of mind knowing that my children cannot be sent home because I do clear the school fees on time.

My new additional goal for the next four months is to buy a water tank for storing clean water for drinking and other domestic use. Getting clean water here in the village is not easy because during the drought season most of the streams are dried up.
