What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
I currently live in a single room, the transfer will help me build a better house. A two bedroom house will make me happy. Plan to use about $700 to build it. It's easier for me since I'm a mason, it will definitely cost less. Motorcycles are the main means of transportation around this locality. We have a shortage of spares. There's only one shop around this area. It's something I plan to exploit. I will spend about $300 of the transfers to start the business. This business will help improve my income and livelihood.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I'm a mason by experience, getting a job and doing it well to the satisfaction of my client is a joy to me. It keeps me going knowing that it shall be well someday. Delivering perfect work means I can be recommended for other jobs, it gives me hope for a better future.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I mainly depend on casual jobs in the construction industry. Recently, getting these jobs has become very hectic. In the past I could get jobs, about two years ago there were plenty. I could easily get casual jobs throughout the week. Nowadays, if I'm lucky, getting one day of work is just great. This means I cannot do my development activities or even avoid decent meals. It has made my life difficult. The cost of food has also gone higher than previously.
