Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I plan to put up a kitchen that is after paying my children's school fees. This will act as a room for my children at night and a kitchen during the day. That is what we call killing two birds with one stone.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfers is that I now can easily access loans with the confidence of paying them back as soon as I receive my transfers. Before the transfers, borrowing loans was not easy because I was not certain of where to get money for payback.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Previously, I have been living in a one-room house that served as a kitchen, living, and bedroom to my family. In the next six months God willingly I will have successfully built a kitchen which I have ever dreamt of. Thanks to GiveDirectly because the kitchen serves as a bedroom for my children at night and a cooking place during the day.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Previously I only relied on the small businesses that I used to run but I never used to get much. It was only enough to buy food and had nothing to save. I could not set goals because I did not have the means of achieving them. The meager pay also couldn't purchase the basic household items. I'm grateful to GiveDirectly for coming to my rescue. Through the GiveDirectly transfers, I have been able to comfortably meet most of my needs and I'm glad I now own a lot of assets including livestock.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have been saving some money in a Merry-go-round and I'm supposed to earn my shares in July. I, therefore, have plans of using the savings to purchase sand and cement that I will use to plaster my house. I want to prefer plastering my house because it is cheaper to maintain and it will save me a lot of time and energy by not repairing it after every rainy season. I am glad that I will soon be able to plaster it through the help I get from Give Directly
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I have been able to plan and budget well ever since I started receiving the transfers from GiveDirectly. This has relieved me from the embarrassment of borrowing food every time. The many debts burdened me and I couldn't make any progress. Having no reliable source of income limited me from starting any development project thus I ended up having debts all over. I am happy this is not the situation anymore because I was able to settle all the debts and currently I can even plan and start thinking of doing the bigger projects
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Currently, I only have two seats which aren't enough to accommodate my large family. I, therefore, have plans to complete plastering my house thereafter I'll save some money and use it to purchase more seats. I am planning to buy plastic seats which will help me earn more income when people hire them when they have events

My life is currently different from the way it was four months ago in that my house now looks decent and I can comfortably welcome people in the house. This is because I was able to purchase cushions for my seats to replace the old dirty cushions I had previously.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I have a new goal of purchasing some goats for rearing. With the goats, I'll be able to sell part of them in the future in case I'll have an emergency.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfers is the feeling of independence. Previously, I couldn't afford a lot of things and I could rely on neighbors for help. I'm now happy I'm sure of getting some money every month that I can use to meet my various needs.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect to have bought enough cement and sand which I'll use to plaster my house. Currently, I have a clay-walled house which doesn't last long because whenever it rains the rain washes it off. I, therefore, want to look for a long term solution which is plastering.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Apart ffrom the best harvest I got as a result of using hybrid seeds and fertilizers, I have new household items. I depended on casual work for my survival. I would really strain financially to provide for my family, pay school fees and even improve the staus of my house. As a result, I had torn bedding, broken seats and very old utensils. For the period I have been receiving the transfers, I have been able to buy new bedding, a sofa set and utensils. Anytime i have visitors, I dopn't feel ashamed nor go begging as I used to. i really thank Give Directly for taking away my shame.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Since I do not have any stable source of income, I would want to ensure my children are never sent home for school fees again. I plan to take part of my monthly transfers to cater for school fees for my children. This will help me reduce the financial burden and provide for my family better.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life since I started receiving these transfers is that I got the highest number of sacks in my last harvest ever in my life. Before the transfers, I used to plant with ordinary seeds and without fertilizers because my income was not enough to enable me to buy hybrid seeds and fertilizers. As a result, I have been getting a low harvest of utmost 2 sacks of maize. When I received this transfer and bought hybrid seeds and fertilizers, my farm did well and when I harvested, I got 7 sacks. This has really helped me solve some financila issues in my family because I sold part of it to get money.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, my main goal is to plaster my house. This has been a dream which I have not accomplished because of low income from casual work. Due to weather patterns in my area, I fear one day the rains and the wind might bring down my house. I believe with plastering, it will be stronger and durable as I focus my finances on other family matters than building a new house.
