How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
These cash transfers have made it possible for me to sleep in an iron roofed house and I am so grateful to GiveDirectly for that wonderful gift. Futhermore, I have owned a cow, 2 mattresses and bed sheets at once. Before receiving this transfers, I slept in an grass thatched hut that leaked whenever it rained and on very old mattress.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well to give me cash that I have used to construct an iron roofed house.I haven't seen any problem with GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to purchase a cow a door, a window, 2 bags of cement, 2 matresses, 2 pairs of bed sheets, utensils, seeds(ground nuts and beens) and food. In addition, I lent out UGX 400,000 in exchange of an acre of land as security.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life has improved because I'm sleeping in permanent house. Before, I used to sleep in a grass thatched hut which was leaking.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my transfer, I felted excited because the transfer was going to help me construct my permanent house and acquire household items like mattress and utensils.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have spent my first transfer to purchase building materials (bricks, iron sheets, nails, timber and cement), household items (utensils, bed sheets) worth UGX 40,000 and Labour worth UGX 240,000. The recipient could not estimate how much the son spent per item but she spent most of the transfer to construct her permanent house.
