How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I now live a very happy and fullfilled life as compared to before when I was stressed. This is because with the transfers I was able to build a new 22-Iron roofed house in place of the old grass thatched leaking roofed house.I also furnished my house with new modern furniture, new beds and beddings hence more comfort and sound sleep. I was also able to buy a heifer which is now due. I count all these as answered prayers because before I used to pray and just wish for these very things.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GD does well because it has enabled me and most people in my locality to upgrade our houses from leaking grass thatched roof to durable iron roofed houses.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so happy the moment I received money from GiveDirectly. I already had plans on how to use it and this made it easier for me to start planning on how I was going to accomplish my plans. I am happy that my long term dreams on how to improve my living standards and that of my family were made possible even earlier than I had expected.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference is the happiness that I now have about this transfer. It has brought so much joy in my life after being able to accomplish the things that I earlier thought I would take longer to be able to accomplish. I feel more empowered ecnomically than I felt before and I am looking forward to accomplishing even much more bigger dreams going forward.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used part of my recent transfer to buy a cow, furniture and food for the family. I had always had this desire of owning my own dairy cow and bringing to an end the perenial lack of milk in our household. This was however difficult to accomplish since the little income hat we got from the casual works and subsistence farming was hardly enough to raise any reasonable income to accomplish this. When I received money from GiveDirectl, I made a conscious decision to prioritise these investments and I am happy that I have been able to accomplish them within the shortest time possible. I am looking forward to accomplishing much more bigger tasks once I receive my second transfer.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Adding one dairy cow at $350 for milking that will ensure sustainable daily income from selling milk is what receiving this money means to me. I will also use my transfer to buy goats and sheep as a store of wealth so that whenever there is shortage of food in my family i can sell some after they multiply to buy food and support other family needs. I will use the remaining part of my transfer to buy household furniture and clothes for my grand children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Having achieved the goals and activities that i had planned for the day, evening is the time i get to rest hence marking this the happiest part of my day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Due to unpredictable rainfall patterns in this region, we no longer have bumper harvests like we used to long time ago. Our farms are no longer productive and this has resulted to a great challenge food security wise, which is the biggest hardship we face
