Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal for the next four months is that I am planning to expand the farming activities, rent more land and employ more casual laborers to cultivate. After the harvest, I will sell the produce at the market to earn an income to a start poultry keeping project which will earn me an income by selling the eggs.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have been able to buy farm inputs, fertilizers and seeds. I used to do casual jobs in the village before to earn an income and the amount of money that I could get was only enough for the basic needs. I had no extra money to cultivate my farm and even to buy seeds and fertilizers. I could buy food in all seasons because I did not have the finances to invest in farming. Currently, I have been in a position to buy fertilizers and seeds. I am also able to pay workers to cultivate my farm. During the last season, I was in a position to have a good harvest and this has reduced the cost that I was incurring every day. I no longer do the manuals jobs but rather devote all my time to my own farm. I am so happy because GiveDirectly has changed my standard of living.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have expanded the farming and be able in a position to produce enough for the family and sell the surplus to build a better house. We live in a small house and it cannot host all of us comfortably. I will also have to learn many this to perfect my skills in horticulture.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, my life is different from how it was four months ago since I have been able to improve on my farming practices. This is visible as the crops in my farm are doing well as it has not been invested by diseases. Because of this, I am optimistic that my produce this year will increase hence my family will have enough food to last us till the next harvesting season after selling some.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
The additional goal for my life for the next four months is to start a poultry keeping project. This project requires less inputs and attention thus it will be easy for me to always run it alongside dairy farming.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Even though I no longer do some casual work, my family do get their needs on time. This is because I use part of my transfers to buy our needs and my farm produce to substitute this. Due to this, my family members are always well fed. Being able to provide for my family needs on time is so far the biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, my life will not be the same again since I will have started a poultry keeping project. This project will be my alternative source of income apart from dairy and crop farming. I will be using the money derived from this project to provide for my family needs and use the money from the other projects to support my children's education.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is different in that I no longer do a lot of casual jobs like I used to do in the past. GiveDirectly came in handy to help me relax at home and avoid working for long hours like I used to do. Doing a lot of casual work especially for an ageing person like me can be so stressing and tiring. These days I can relax and do my own work at home since I do not have pressure of getting enough money to feed the family for the day.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I want to put more land under cultivation to further increase the amount of food produced from my farm. This I plan to do by hiring more land for cultivation and putting it into good use. The proceeds from my farming shall help me raise enough money to pay school fees for my children and at the same time be able to put food on the table for my family consistently.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life over the last four months is that I have been able to meet most of my daily needs without having to struggle like I used to do before. Doing casual jobs to earn a living can be so stressing especially for an ageing person like me. The casual jobs requires a lot of energy to do yet the pay is too little. These transfers brought a lot of relief to me since I no longer work for long days to get enough money to buy food for my family. The transfers has also allowed me to improve my farming practices thus increasing our crop productivity and ensuring that we have enough food for the family and even surplus for selling to meet other family needs.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect to be fully employed in my farm and no longer doing any form of casual jobs to earn a living. This will mean that I generate more income from my farming practices and lead a generally happier life than the one I am leading now. It is at this time that I am also looking forward to having employed improved farming practices to help me increase crop production and engaging in livestock rearing as well.
