How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
First of all, by the time trasfers came, we were faced with food shortage. We did not have enough food as a family and this trend was continuing. Little did we know that a God sent organization was on its way to salvage the almost dying family. If the support had not come, we would be still living in poverty and lack of food as usuall would have been the way of life.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly's decision to support us financially is very unmatched. The village is boasting of the help that was accorded for my the organization and nothing is noted to have been done wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent KES 25000 in buying a cow with the hope of provision of milk both for family use and for consumption. I had thought that I would not be poor anymore in terms of milk, and even earning a cent from the sale of this precious commodity. It was painful and really unfortunate that the animal died due to poor climatic conditions that had hit our region at the time of this need I aslo spent the rest of the amount on food for my family members.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Subjection to abject poverty has been the biggest hardship I have ever experienced in my life. For instance, getting food to eat has been very difficult and most of the time I had to forego taking some/all meals of the day. Death of my husband also increased my suffering since he was our bread winner.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I wake up feeling good, energized and ready to partake on the hustle of the day.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am very happy with this great news. I can now see my plans being achieved-since capital was the only stumbling block to realization of my dream. Thank you GD for your support.
