Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to start a butchery business. I would also want to have a business which will be my source of income. I would not want to go back to herding as I used to before the transfers. I know the business will elevate me financially and I would not struggle as before.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In my life before the transfers, I did not have a cow. I used to herd for others in the village as a way of getting an income because I did not have my own. I was hoping one day I would have my own but how to buy one was the problem. My income could not even meet our daily needs well and in time. In as much as I had many needs I have accomplished with the transfer, the most fulfilling is the cow I bought with part of the transfers. I feel I have achieved so much in my life because of the cow. It has been a dream which I could not realise on my own. I am glad GD brought the change in my life.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I know I will have started the butchery business which is my goal for now. My idea is to make good use of the resources I get from Give Directly to cause a permanent positive change in my life financially. I will be using part of my monthly transfers for savings and in the next six months, I will have saved enough to kickstart the business. As I continue to receive more, I will also be boosting the business on a monthly basis until my business is stable enough to sustain itself and my family needs.

Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I plan to start a dairy cow farming. I will spend the coming four months transfer establishing fodder, Bhoma Rhodes grass. I will buy the prepare a part of my farm buy the seeds and grow them.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the way I farm. I used the money to plow the land and bought maize seeds that are now growing. I bought a hybrid maize seed called DK 777 that is produced by a company called Monsanto. It is a super maize variety seed that has given me a lot of hope of attaining food sufficiently for my family. I know that after harvesting in the next three months, I will do away with the expensive daily household expenditure on buying food. I will sell part of the product and buy goats to expand my flock.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, my expectation is that I will have made strides towards improving my dairy farm. I will have produced the first harvest of Bhoma Rhodes hay. It will boost milk [roduction from the current heard of cattle that I have. In this period of time, I will have started getting higher income from milk sales. I hope that as a result of this, I begin to search for a better cow breed that will then be more productive than the indigenous cows that I have.

I rely on low paying and hardly scarce casual jobs to provide for my family. In addition to the problem of ending a day without and income, inability to provide for my family was quite challenging and this had led to a stressful life both to my family and I. Since I had started receiving money from GiveDirectl, The changes in my life a lot and the most is the happiness in my family due to the ease of accessing daily basic needs. We can currently have enough meals for each day, reduce the debts that accrue in search of daily bread and happiness that had gone missing in our family before is back again and these are how my life is currently different from how it was four months ago.

I am the head of my family and the daily basic needs of my family depend on me. I always work hard to see that my family enjoy each day like other families but the little resource and the low paying and hardly found casuals jobs I rely on makes it challenging to provide for my family. I had always been forced to forgo other basic needs in my household a habit that really stressed me up as the head of the family. In the last four months, the biggest difference in my daily life is the efforts and empowerment that I have received from GIveDIrectly. I am a happy father with humble minds since I have been able to attend to my responsibilities on time as a father and this the biggest difference in my daily life. My family easily access basic needs through monthly transfer from GD currently unlike before.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Six months to come, I expect my life will be different from now since I expect to be doing more and improved farming since I will have put up a butchery business hence will have more income to help in other investments. I expect to have a happier family since I expect access to basic needs like clothing and food to easier than now through better income from butchery business.
