How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different because I have been able to diversify my farming activities. Before GD came for enrollment, I rarely planted maize since I used to deal with sugarcane alone but this is a different case now. Due to this, I no longer buy maize flour throughout the year. This has enabled me to cater to my family needs on time.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my own opinion, GiveDirectly did well in all aspects of their operations. First, they were transparent in all their operations, had no discrimination and they also honored their promise to us. I do not see anything that they did not do well though I feel that they should have distributed the transfer for a whole year.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to pay school fees for my children. I settled on this so that my children would not be sent back home. Also, I spent some amount on farming. I hired a tractor to help me in ploughing my farm, to buy some hybrid sugarcane and maize seeds. Apart from this, I spent some amount to clear the debts that I had. On the remaining amount, I bought some food and decent clothes for my family.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life since is the relief I have currently knowing that my child is in school and I do not have to walk up and down asking people for money.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my money it was unbelievable and it took me time to believe that I had such an amount of money in my account without struggling for it. I felt so happy and thanked God for such a moiracle.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent the money I received from GiveDirectly on steel and steel window that I'm planning to use while I'll be constructing a new house because the current house is too old and not in good condition. Part of the money I paid for school fee for my child who owed the school some money. Part of the money I spent on food for my family.
