How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now than before in that I was able to get back my land that I will be cultivating on to increase the food production that will later serve as an investment when I sell off the harvest to cater for my family needs. Prior to getting this transfer, I had less farm land and ended up at times hiring farm land.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly has done well by enrolling and later sending me money that helped in several ways. GiveDirectly has done nothing bad.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer Ugx 800000 to get back land that had been mortgaged years ago. I then bought a cow at Ugx 400000. I then spent some money to buy some house hold items such as mattress, treating my children and feeding my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this money, I will buy 2 bulls as oxen and an ox-plough. Currently I hire ploughing services for agriculture, but with the expectation of GD transfers, I will be able to have my own. This will save us the money we have been using and channel it into catering for other basic needs like education, medical care, proper feeding and many more. I will also buy household items like utensils, beddings, furniture and clothes because apparently the ones we have are old.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am sure my family has had all the necessary meals for the day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is lack of enough food for the family. This is because there is no sufficient money to improve our agriculture like proper ploughing, fertilizers etc.
