What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on relocating and building a 3-room house (47,000 KES) since we had always wanted to relocate as required by tradition but we never had money before, but GD transfers provided an opportunity.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of the second transfer to pay dowry because l have stayed for so long with my spouse without paying dowry. I also spent the transfer to buy iron-sheet as l am planning to build house in my own home. The remaining balance l spent to buy 1 sack of maize for my consumption.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I am now curtained that l am true spouse to my husband after he spent the transfer to pay dowry. I am also sure of having a house in my home.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on buying a solar lamp 3,500 KES and now my children are studying comfortably with no worries of the traditional latent fuel being exhausted while they are studying. I also bought a bag of maize 4000 KES and other perishable foods 2000 KES.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money ,I ululated since its seemed as a dream and I could believe my own eyes.In my life I have never been given such an amount of money out of good will hence I am so appreciative to GiveDirectly for this opportunity.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship in my life is scarcity of monetary resources, that can not allow me to meet my basic needs. For example, i have children to take care of, i also have a dream to build a iron roofed house which i an unable to do because of lack of money.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is evening, because that's when my husband and children will be at home, and we share the evening meal happily together. My husband is a driver, and when he come back home safely, then i will be a happy woman.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will mean a lot to me because since 2005, i have been living in a grass thatched house, which is earth walled. Now i can afford a smile in that i will be able to build a good house.
