How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now in that, previously by this time I would have sold my rice harvest to pay school fees. Therefore this money has helped me a lot cater for school fees meaning that I have saved my rice for next year's fees. In addition to this, I managed to purchase new beddings especially a bigger bed and mattress plus bed cover which I did not have hopes of sleeping on. Lastly, the money I received especially the first one enabled me complete my commercial building that was faced by a stumbling block of cash and it had stayed at a rim beam level for so long.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, we lived in difficult situations like sleeping in ramschuckled houses, limited land to cultivate, high rate of school drop outs among others. GiveDirectly has restored hope, joy and happiness to my community because this transfers have changed lives tremendously. In my view, I give GiveDirectly thumps up because there's no other organization that has done what GD has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second money on paying fees for my son who's pursuung agricultural course. I spent part on buying household items like beddings. The remaining money I saved it for paying school fees for other children who are soon returning to school.
