How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different that it would have been if I never received the transfer in that, I was able to construct a house for my family something that has restored my privacy that I had missed for two year. Back in the days, I was seeking shelter from my neighbour with my two children after my house collapse two year ago. I did not have the money to build a new one since I am jobless and my husband is a casual labourer, we used most of his income feed our family. Furthermore, I was able to boost my livestock rearing a future investment for my children. In addition, I am planning to invest $200 on starting a grocery business in the village something that will earn me a living. I will be able to support my husband in raising our family through the my earnings.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, I thank GiveDirectly for coming up with the cash transfer program which has transformed my life for the better. Through the transfer, I was able to construct a house for the family. Previously, I was being sheltered by my neighbour where lack the privacy. I don't think there is anything that it does not do well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent $130 to boost my livestock rearing by purchasing 3 more goats. This is my future investment for my children, I will be able to sale them to cater for their educational need . In addition, they may assist me whenever I face any financial emergency when they multiply. Furthermore, I am planning to invest $200 in starting a small grocery business. This will be my reliable source of income for the family which will supplement my husband's earnings from his casual labor activities. The remaining amount assisted me in purchasing clothes, school uniforms and paying fees for my two children who are in primary school.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my transfer I felt so happy. I did not expect it, since it was the first time in my life to receive such an amount, it felt like a dream.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the pride I have owning nkt just a house but a decent brick house. I will never sleep in people's houses again, especially whenever it rains.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I had started constructing a brick house but I ran out of cash so I left it halfway. The moment when I received the first transfer I spent it on roofing the house and completing the other areas that were left hunging. I am glad I now have a decent house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will help me start goat farming which has always been my wish. Goats multiply very fast. This will enable me buy a dairy cow in future when I sell the some of the goats. My budget for this is 150 USD. I also have an unfinished house. Construction stalled due to lack of money. With 220 USD I will be able to finish my two roomed house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
During the day I am usually very busy. I go to the farm and do other house chores. Evening comes as a relief to me since I get to relax after a busy day. I take this time to chat and connect with friends. This is therefore the happiest part of my day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Lack of a stable source of income is what has been my biggest hardship. I depend on my spouse who works away from home in a nearby town to send me money. He is never assured of getting work to do since he is a casual in the construction industry. In a week he sends me around 15 USD which is not enough for the basic needs as well as school needs for my children. Sometimes my child is sent home due to lack of school fees. This really stresses me a lot. I do a little bit of farming but long dry spells have been letting me down in the recent years.
