How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has now changed in that, I own oxen and better beddings. Previously, I first had to toil in other people's farm land before they could assist me with their oxen to plough my land. With this oxen, I won't struggle when it comes to planting seasons again. In addition, I used to sleep on rags but I'm very grateful for the GiveDirectly transfer which enabled me to buy new ones.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by giving me the money that acquired for me the assets I didn't have. On the other hand, I don't see anything bad that GiveDirectly has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought two oxen with my second transfer.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The big difference now is that, I own livestock and when they multiply I am going to use for paying dowry for my wife to be. This is a traditional obligation for a man taking up a new wife. I also now have decent bedding. Before, I had nothing and I used to work in people's farms as a casual laborer in order to earn a living. The mattress I was sleeping on was in a bad condition.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer, I became happy and very early in the morning I went to church to give God thanks.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 1,450,000 of my first transfer for purchasing cow, a goat at UGX 60,000 and a sheep at UGX 70,000. The balance of the transfer I spent on buying a bed, mattress, clothes, food and for transport.
