Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I have a new goal to lease a piece of land so that we may try improving our farming. Our piece of land is so small that it can not accommodate our livestock and spare us some part of it to use in subsistence farming at the same time. Leasing other piece of land will then give is a space to till and at least venture into food crop production.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
After receiving the transfers from GiveDirectly, I can really attest to the fact that life has been good to everyone in our household. A lot have changed, and even to date things are still moving on well. The biggest difference in my daily life is the presence of a milk-producing cow which we bought with the second transfer. It was hard doing without milk before since we were spending a lot of money buying. We made this decision with the hope to stop spending a lot and at least to one day sell our own too to the neighboring community. We are now glad that we have been saving a lot since then. The school fees for my children are getting paid from the savings from selling this milk and also other household expenses have been sorted.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, it is my expectation that I will have gotten a piece of land to lease. Maize short season crops will be our priority since we are hopping to maximize production within a very short period of time.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving the transfer is that currently I have peaceful mind in that I have been able to visit my sick sister, have enough food and better cloths for my family members. This has given me daily happiness since it has not been easy before to meet all this.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months I expect my life to be better than today in that I will have built a house and will have more food for my family from my farming.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different from how it would have been if I had not received the transfers in that I currently see my poverty level reducing with time. What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am blessed with four children but all of them have a common birth problem in the sense that-they all have difficulty in hearing. They all bleed in their ears since birth and I have gone to almost all hospitals(within my financial ability) but all in vain. I am hopeful that one day I'll be able to find a cure for their ears. This for me has always been the biggest hardship I have ever experienced.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am back from my casual job or my farm and bringing with me something for my family to take for supper.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on buying a dairy cattle and constructing a semi-permanent house for my family.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
Not long ago, together with my family, I was in a terrible state(financially). We could eat once or go hungry a whole day. Luckily my husband later got a job as I also did casual jobs to ensure that my family's needs are met. I worked tirelessly everyday so that I could support him and for me this is the greatest achievement I am proudest of.
