How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Comparing my life now after receiving both transfers and how it would have been if I had never received the transfer, there is a really big difference. From scratch, we rose and own lots of properties and assets which we now call our own. We managed to construct a new house big enough to accommodate all the household members, bought a piece of new furniture and also cleared the school fees for my two sons who are currently in secondary school. I am also so proud that we were able to spare some money which we used in buying a heifer. We are now sure that soon we will not be buying milk again.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Since GiveDirectly came into our village, I have been grateful because the work they did was so great. They came at the right time when we were so down and needed them the most; they lifted us to where we are currently and in my opinion, their work was perfect and we cannot complain at all but we are praying that may God enable them to still visit the nearby villages who have not received any transfer.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
After receiving the first transfer, I spent part of it on paying school fees for my two children who are currently in secondary school. With the remaining amount, we decided as a family to spend on buying clothing for all the members of the household and also foodstuff since we had no maize in our stores.

I felt so happy when I got money from GD and spent it in happiness.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
The money which I got from Give directly really assisted me to built a semi permanent house and pay school fees for children who are in secondary school. I also spent some to buy a cow.
