What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on purchasing building materials and constructed a house that is more permanent and spacious than the one I had before. Honestly, I suffered much from my previous house which was made of mud and produced a lot of dust whenever cleaning was done. This in turn exposed us to several dust related infections which costed us a lot treating. More to that, some of my children who could not be comfortably hosted in the tiny house suffered a lot seeking for extra accommodation at the neighborhood. Thanks a lot to GiveDirectly for its support that bailed me out of all these problems.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is so different than it would have been were it not for the transfers. This is symbolically proved by the kind of lifestyle I acquired upon receiving my first transfer. Contrary to my previous life, I feed so well and dress appropriately today.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has worked extremely well in fulfilling its promise to recipients who at the initial stages of enrollment doubted a lot the project.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on building a bigger house as I will buy some bags of cement, I will spend part of the transfer on building a house for my eldest son and the remaining amount I will spend on paying school fees for my child who is in secondary school.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement that I am proudest of is that I was able to take four of my children to school till they cleared high school using cash that I had saved when I was working at a security firm.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face in my life is that getting school fees for my child who is in secondary school currently is not easy as he is also having leprosy and treating him is a challenge for us as it drains our income.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is when I wake up in the morning and I do cleaning of my compound and take care of the trees that I had planted. This makes me happy as I love nature.
