Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money , I felt so very happy. This transfer would now help me to fulfil what I needed to do.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my life is the joy of good sofa set seats which is a result of these transfers. I am now not worried when I have guests since I got comfortable seats where they can seat. Before I have worked hard to build a good house but there were no seats at all. I would borrow from neighbours I got some visitors. Now the shame is gone for good as I have my own.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
The first transfers which I received from Give Directly, I spent to buy some sofa set seats. The remaining portion I used it to buy food and clothes for my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have a school fees burden which has been a problem all through. I have two children in secondary school and another in college. Receiving this money will help me pay school fees for my children. I will also buy a cow which will cost me approximately 150 USD . The cow will be a boost to my income when I milk and sell some of the milk.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I spend most of my time in my farm. I tend to my crops and look after my cow. At the end of the day I am usually very tired because the work I do is mostly physical. I enjoy my evenings since it is usually my time to relax after a busy day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Raising school fees is the biggest hardship I have been facing. My husband is a mason .He earns between 3-5 USD in a day. Sometimes work is not available for him and he is forced to stay at home. We do a little bit of crop farming in half an acre of land which is does not give us enough yield for sale. The little we get is just for consumption.Crop farming has not been doing well due to crop diseases and long dry spells.
