I have new goals that I would wish to accomplish but I don't have any more money to enable me to do so. I would wish to buy another cow, build a house, and buy a water tank. All these need large sums of money which I don't know where I will get. I am getting old and I am no longer able to do so much work. I had planned to fence my land and draw water to my compound when I get the transfer. I am still going on with the fencing of my land and it seems with the money that is remaining, I will not be able to finish fencing the whole land. I usually sell milk that I get from my cows. I sell about five litres daily which go for KES 20 per litre and I get paid at the end of the month. With this money that I get from the sale of milk, I plan to use part of it in finishing the fencing of the land. I wanted to fence the land because I wanted to restrain my cows from going to other people's farms and causing disagreements. This way I can concentrate on doing other things rather than looking after the cows as they graze.

GiveDirectly did well because they enabled me to do many developments which I never thought I will be able to do. I was able to draw water to my compound and hence I no longer have to make long trips to the river to fetch water. I have also been able to fence my land and when I complete the fencing, I will no longer have to worry about the cows going to other people's farms. This way, I can leave them on their own and concentrate on doing other activities. Although GiveDirectly has done well, I would recommend to them to change one thing. There are some people that they left out during enrollment and they deserved to be assisted because they have children that depend on them. These are people who left the village to look for work due to the hardships that they are going through. They do belong to the village and most of them left the children at their parents' home. I think they should be helped because it was not their intention to leave the village.

I spent the whole of my second transfer on fencing my land. I decided to fence the land because I wanted to restrain my cows from going to other people's farms and causing disagreements. This way I can concentrate on doing other things rather than looking after the cows as they graze. I had always wanted to fence the land but I was not in a position to due to lack of money. I usually sell milk that I get from my cows. I sell about five litres daily which goes for KES 20 per litre and I get paid at the end of the month. The money that I make from the sales most of it usually goes to the payment of school fees for my last born child. I, therefore, do not have any to save to use in making developments as such.

On receiving the first transfer,l was grateful and thanked God for the great favor that had come upon us that morning. It has been prayers every single day since I was enrolled in the program. I needed this money to help me in connecting the piped water to my home since I had been struggling a lot fetching water from the river. At my age, it had been so hard walking to and from the distant river with a water bucket on my head. I am still grateful that I now have clean water right at my doorstep.

After installation of the pipes and ensuring that the water is flowing well, life had been so easy that even my livestock enjoys clean water from the taps. This has been the biggest difference in my daily life since it sorted the tedious walk to and from the river every day. This was also limiting the use of water since a 20-liter container of water per day could not solve all the household purposes. I am thankful and looking forward to the second transfer so that I can kick start other new projects.

After the enrollment, it has been my prayer that all would go well so that I may connect the piped water to my doorstep. I had been struggling to fetch water from a distant river since we had been experiencing longer seasons without rain. I am glad that I finally received and spent KES 23000 on obtaining pipes and paying a plumber to fix the conveyance to my doorstep. Currently, I am enjoying clean water at a very low cost and am grateful for this. With the other KES 18000, I spent it on purchasing a four-month in-calf heifer. I needed an additional breed on my field with the hope of producing more milk in the future - both for my household consumption and also some for sale. This addition of livestock necessitated the fencing and partitioning of my fields. I had to spend KES 11000 on obtaining fencing poles and a barbed wire and currently partitioning the fields to enhance smooth rotational grazing. With the remaining amount, I obtained foodstuff for my family of three.
