How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was in that, I get my monthly transfer which I use to take care of my needs easily. This is much better than the casual jobs that I used to do. I could get a meager amount of money that mostly ended up on food and a few needs. I am glad that I have even started dreaming of achieving big goals like buying sheep.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal in the next four months is to pool efforts with my husband who is also a beneficiary and use the money to buy sheep. Currently, I have some that belong to but for relatives and friends. I was promised to get the offerings after three rounds of reproduction. I would really love to have my own that I can sell whenever I have emergencies to take care of.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the peace of mind that I have , seeing my grandchild going to school like other children. I have been able to use a large portion of my transfer to facilitate everything that is needed in high school. I do not know how differently I could have handled this with over one and a half year's support. Primary's education was easier because I only had to buy stationery that was needed.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the next six months is to have stared selling sugar can to earn a living. I leased land and planted sugar cane with the previous transfers. The sugar can will be ready for sell. I will be taking some to the market and sell some to small business people who will be selling in the neighborhood.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have an orphaned grandson under my care who is in secondary school. Since the beginning of the year, he has not been sent away from school because the transfers we have been receiving from Give Directly have helped us pay his school fees on time. Due to our lack of income due to old age and inability to work, raising money to pay his school fees was a very big challenge we had, but with these transfers, things have totally changed.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I had a thatched kitchen that collapsed months ago which I plan to rebuild so I will be using most of my transfers to buy the required materials such as roofing sheets. I know this will not be easy as we solely depend on the transfers for our household needs, but we will have to manage the funds better to achieve this goal.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
My husband is very old therefore not able to work which leaves me as the sole provider of my family. Despite having no stable source of income and only relying on subsistence farming, our lives have been made easier by the monthly transfers my husband and I have been receiving from Give Directly. Whenever we receive the money at the beginning of every month, we usually combine them as a family and buy the household requirements in bulk so that we can easily go through the whole month without any struggle. I am very grateful to GiveDirectly for saving me from constantly having to request for financial assistance from my relatives.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I hope that in the next six months, I will have raised enough money to buy the necessary construction materials and constructed a new kitchen which can also serve as a bedroom for my teenage grandchildren. Constructing this kitchen will also save my family from always inhaling toxic smoke from the firewood used whenever we have to cook inside the house, especially during the rainy season as we will no longer use the main house.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Right now I have the sheep that I never had before. My primary aim of having it is because I intend to keep it until such a time when it will have given birth to its offspring. At that time, I know I will be ale to sell out a few of them whenever I run into financial depression and bail myself out.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am still plan to use the cash to buy a new blanket because right now I have only one blanket which is quite old. I also have a problem because when I get visitors it becomes hard to sleep in the same house because I have no other blankets they can use during the night hours.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I have been using the money to settle my financial bills for example I have been able to build a new kitchen which I never had before. I used to cook in the open space which was very dangerous for me especially during the extreme weather conditions.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My plan is to buy a few furniture such as a new set of sofa-set and a table that I will be proud of whenever I get visitors who come to pay me a visit. Right now I have very old seats that are a bit embarrassing.
