How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am living in a house that is made out of thatch roof. When I got my first transfer, I decided to build a decent house and change the thatch to zinc. Therefore, I used my first transfer to purchase two bundles of zinc for my project. When I received the second transfer, I bought additional bundle of zinc and few bags of cement.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly has done by giving us money to change our lives. These transfers have empowered us financially. As a result, people that couldn't afford building houses are in the position to do so and infrastructure development is going on in our community.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my most recent transfer to buy zinc and cement.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
After fetching water for the house, I heard my phone ring and when I went to check, it was my cash transfer from GiveDirectly. I was extremely happy when I confirmed it with my neighbour.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I was without any helper, without any home but now GiveDirectly has given me voice to speak. Now I'm going to own a house for myself.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have been living with my mother in law for some time now so I intend to use my transfer and build a new house for myself and my kids.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Build my house. I will remove the bush leaves that is over my house to zinc and plaster in and out of my house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
When Inpaid the money I owe the financial club in my town. We were seriously in debt and if we didn't pay, we would have been sent to jail. However, mu husband was able to get a contract to brush a farm in another community (Parken) and that money was used to pay off our debt.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I dont have money. My husband and I are not working right now. We have to work on other community members farm before we get money to feed ourselves.
