What did you spend your third transfer on?
I used a larger portion of the transfer to built a new iron roofed house and cemented the floor. I paid my child in high school fee with a portion of the transfer. I also purchased some household items with the rest of the money.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I now own a spacious house which doesn't leak as the former one. A part from that, my saloon business which I expanded with the first transfer is thriving well and earn my family a descent life.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, what GD does well is that it really focuses on uplifting the livelihood of the very poor in the community.

I spent my second transfer on buyimg building materials which I used to build a bigger better house as the previous one was smaller and in a bad shape.

I spent my first transfer on stocking my Hair salon business (10,000 KES) to generate more profit for me.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my money I felt great excitement, but it was followed by unbelief, until I decided to buy airtime through the MPESA Account and ‘’test’’, then I knew this money was real, and that time had come to buy some Equipment and other items for my 2 year old Hair salon that had been limping for limping due to lack of capital!

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I'm planning to build a house,pay school fees for my child in form two and use the remaining amount to expand my current business of hairdressing by buying salon equipment.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having educated my first born child through primary school and now she's in form two.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship in my life currently is on making ends meet, I have no support from my relatives and being a widow makes it even harder.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I'm attending to my customers at the Salon. I find joy since this is how I'm able to support my family.
