Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received this transfers I felt so happy and thankful for I knew that my dream will come true. When the confirmation message came, I took a deep breath and thank God as I knew that surely I would spend it as I have always plan.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I did not have a good house to live in. My old house was in a very bad state but I couldn't even renovate it. I am happy that I have a new house to live in with my family. I also have a dairy cow which I didn't have before. I use to rear some which I got from my relative but now having my own cow is fulfilling and makes me a happy parent.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of my first transfer on buying some building materials such as some pieces of iron sheets, timber, nails and posts. When I got my transfers, my first priority was to have a better shelter which would be much comfortable and specious. I spent part of the remaining amount to buy a cow. The remaining amount I bought enough foodstuffs for my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My aspiration has been to own a dairy cow. I am planning to buy a cow since we buy milk daily for home consumption and it is costly. We use approximately 10 USD a month on milk alone yet my husband is a mason and he occasionally gets a job and therefore getting 1 USD a day is hard to come by. Hence buying a cow means we will be able to sell some milk and use other for home consumption and therefore improving our living standards.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening since it is the time I rest and connect with the rest of my family. My use the entire of my morning and part of my afternoon to work in my garden of approximately 0.2 of an acre where I grow bananas, sugarcane and kales. I will work in the garden up to around 4 pm when I will come to attend to my household chores such as washing clothes, utensils and preparing supper for my family. After that I will have time to chat with my family before going to bed.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
We are peasant farmers and the biggest hardship we have face in life is change of climate which greatly reduced on maize production yet we entirely depend on to fend for our family. We have faced this change of climate in our region for almost 10 years now which left us with no option other than being casual laborers. We are therefore planning to use the money we get from Give directly to purchase dairy cow to help sustain my young family.
