Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal in life is to start paying school fees for my children for next year. I will be using my transfers to achieve this since I do not have any form of employment. I have decided on this since I do not want an instance where they will be sent back home. Clearing their school fees will also enable them to concentrate on their studies and improve on their performance.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have been able to pay school fees for my children on time. Due to this, I still have to pay KES 5000 to clear this year's school fees. This has been possible because we have been using our transfers collectively to cater for this. Due to this, I am now a happy and contented person. My children have always had enough time for their studies and revision and I believe that their performance in school will continue improving.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My children's education has always been my priority and I have always taken it seriously. This is an investment that will never lose its value and with the current economy, no one is assured of a better life in the future if s/he has no formal education. Since I am planning to channel all my next transfers on paying school fees, I believe that I will have almost cleared next year's school fees for one of my children. Also, I am optimistic that I will have bought them all the requirements they need for their revision.

Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My only aim at the moment is to clear paying school fees for my daughter. This is because I do not want an instance where she will be sent back home because of school fee arrears. My wife and I will jointly use our next transfers to achieve this since I currently owe the school KES 5000 only for this term.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been able to pay a third of this term's school fees for my daughter. I am now happy since I believe that I will soon clear the remaining balance. Due to this, my daughter will not be sent back home frequently like last year. I believe that her grades in school will improve since she will have enough time to dedicate to her studies unlike last year when she spent most of the days at home while her mates were in school. Also, she will always have a peaceful mind while studying knowing that everything has been sorted out.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I depend solely on my wife for most of the things since I am asthmatic and I cannot do most of the tedious work. Despite this, I have always wished the best for my family. I know that by using my transfers from GiveDirectly, I will be able to clear paying school fees for my daughter by the end of six months to come. This will make my life different from how it is currently since it will enable me to start helping my wife with some money to use in meeting some of our needs.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different compared to how it was in the last four months. I used to spend most of my time working on other people's farms on casual labor but now I am working hard on my farm to produce our own foodstuff. My children who were always at home due to lack of school fees are now enjoying their learning with other students since we cleared their school fees. So far we are thankful that most of the debts we had in the shopping center are all cleared and all the shopping we are currently doing are all paid in cash. My life has really changed and as a household, we are hopeful that other good changes are coming our way as we continue receiving the transfers from GiveDirectly.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
After sorting out the greatest problem we had on paying school fees, the only remaining challenge is ensuring that we have sufficient foodstuff in our household. This is a new goal which we now have as a household. At the moment we are working hard to see that our subsistence farming is active since that is the only way we can source enough food at a cheaper cost. Although we are still buying other stuff like sugar, tea leaves, and even milk; we are feeling at ease since we have now planted enough vegetables, and in the process of tilling our small piece of land so that we can plant maize.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Before receiving the transfers, I was struggling a lot to ensure that I pay school fees for my children. This would force me to do a lot of casual work where I would be paid a little amount of money which would then be divided into two; some for buying foodstuff and some for payment of school fees. Receiving the transfer brought a lot of relief since sourcing foodstuff and paying school fees became a bit easier. In the last four months, all my children have had their school fees cleared in their respective schools, something which has given them a piece of mind since they are no longer sent home to collect the money. In that past four months, this to me has been the biggest difference in my daily life - children schooling without any disturbance is the best thing every parent would wish for. I am grateful to GiveDirectly for the great help they have given us.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I would wish to have improved in agricultural production. This is one area where we are planning to invest in to ensure enough supply of foodstuff for the household and surplus to sell as a source of income. School fees payment s also in our plans since we would not wish to see our children being disturbed again. We are giving them hope that they can compete favorably with other students in school and it's also a chance for them to work harder and attain the grades they have always wanted to.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I am stronger now and can even help my wife meet our familiy's daily needs. I am now healthier and happy since I got medication courtesy of the transfers.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I am planning to invest heavily in dairy farming since its the only thing I can do. it does not involve a lot of energy as I am not that strong i am still recuperating from asthma. We are going to sell milk and even get extra income from it. I am also projecting to clear my daughters school fees in the next four monrths.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life is that I can now get medication courtesy of the transfers. I have been suffering from asthma for a while now and earlier on before receiving the transfers getting medication was hard since we do not have a reliable source of income. I was always weak and could not even do work in order to fend for my family but after getting the medication I can now help my wife in tea plucking tea thus a higher income for my family.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I am going to have better earnings from dairy farming since I am now getting focused on the same. My wife also now has ample time to go fend for my family on the farm since I am now healthier. Before getting medication, my wife used to spend most of the time taking care of my personal needs since I was only confined to my bed.
