How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I could not have received the money from give directly I am very sure I could not have managed to achieve my dream of pursuing a course of teaching. I am now very sure of completing my course. I could also not managed to build a spacious comfortable house as I have done because I do not have any stable source of income.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion give directly did very good think by dealing with individual and not groups, this could have brought alot of conflicts. I am also glad that they did not involve the authorities in their program because it could have brought alot of corruption.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I completed secondary school sometimes back and pass well, unfortunately I could not managed to continue with my education to the next level because of lack of fee. My parents did not have stable source of income and there were some of our siblings who were also going to school that they were paying their fee. I decided to get married being that I knew it was now the end of my education although I was really longing to farther my education. When I received the money I was so happy because I knew that was my turning point and I was going to achieve my dream of pursuing my course of teaching. I spent most of the transfer to pay my college fee and as we speak I am pursuing my teaching course, I am sure with God's grace I will complete my course. The remaining balance I spent to buy building materials and built a nice spacious comfortable house since I was staying in a very small house that could not accommodate my family. The house also was too old that it was also most falling down. I am very happy because I am now staying in a very comfortable house where I do not to worry of it's falling down.
