What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to build a pit latrine,in order to do this I will need to hire a worker to dig the pit, buy iron sheets for the roof and walls and hire a worker to build the slab, walls and roof. The second transfer will be used to pay school fees for my son who is in secondary school and also build an external kitchen. The third transfer will also be used to pay school fees and if the remaining funds are sufficient I will repair my house.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having struggled a lot since my spouse passed away and after engaging in various forms of business, I have been able to save money and used my savings to educate my children up to secondary school. I also managed to build my own homestead, as my spouse died when we did not have our own homestead.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I have is lack of enough money to pay school fees for my children, build a pit latrine and service a debt I owe my women's support group. I am afraid that if I do not get some money soon my children may drop out of school and the women's support group may also attach some of my property.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is around midday when I am selling my wares in the market, there are usually quite a number of customers and fellow traders and the atmosphere is usually relaxed and lively as people haggle over prices of various goods.
