What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means alot of changes in our household. For a long time I have been hoping to open a barbershop outside our household but lack capital has been an hindering factor. My husband had also been running a small business where he sells quite a variety of things best known as "mali mali" in our local markets. We would wish to improve that business by adding stock and renting a bigger space as a way of widening the business. Our children have not been schooling well also due to the several instances of being sent home to collect school fees. Receiving this money means we will at least get a peace of mind by settling all the debts and picking on the two businesses which will be our sustainable source of income in the near future.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Afternoon have been my resting hours after long morning and mid-mornings of working on my maize, vegetables and sweet potatoes' piece of land. Completing everyday's work and relaxing with my children, talking and planning the next day have been the happiest part of my day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Sitting at home all day after the usual garden work I have been doing have been so boring to me. I have always felt that I am not contributing to the development and creation of our wealth as a household since the little subsistence farming I have been practising has not been that productive due to the long spells of droughts. I always watch helplessly as my children are being sent out of school when they have not cleared their school fees which have beeb givibg me a conviction that I have a role to play but it has really been hard since I have never gotten more than 2000 KES at once since I got married. That has really been my biggest worry since on the other side my husband is working hard on his projects which have kept us going.
