How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is now different since i now own a dairy cow hence continuous milk supply for my family something which was a dream in the past, before I received the transfer, I used to spend most of my money to buy milk from my neighbor which I can now save and use in educating my children.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly does well by sending unconditional cash and hence my living standard has improved ,for example, I now own a cow hence my family always have enough milk and I have not seen anything that Give Directly does not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spend my second transfer to pay school fees for my child who was joining college, this always make smile since am sure that i gave my children quality education who will help me in future when i grow old. I also used part of the transfer to buy one more cow so as to supply enough milk for my family. The remaining part of the transfer I used to buy goats which is my great investment and I will later sell them and use the money to pay school fees for my children in secondary school and one who is in college. Thank you Give Directly for the unconditional cash transfers.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
At the moment, my children do not go to sleep in other peoples houses as they did before as I have been able to build a bigger house for my family. This makes me more comfortable and I am always happy unlike before as my children now have their own room.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was around 6.30 am in the morning when I woke me up. Upon checking my phone, I realized that I had received money from GD. At that moment, I was also overwhelmed with joy as I had never received such an amount in my entire life. I then decided to wake up my husband and children so that I could share with them the good news and they were all thrilled when I broke the news to them.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on buying building materials such as iron sheets, timber and nails which I have used to put up a new house. I used to live in a grass thatched house which was too small and could not serve my family well as it was acting as a kitchen, bed room as well as living room. The rest of the transfer I used to clear school fees balance for my child who was constantly being sent home this year. I would not want to have any arrears next year

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means a great transformation of my life.I am going to use the transfers to build a better house, buy dairy cows and even remain with some amount to boost my grocery business.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is the morning, since it is then that I am glad that I have seen a new day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Drought and famine has been the biggest hardship I have faced. The last 10 years has been coupled by long dry spells and since we have always relied on farming and livestock, life has really been tough:sleeping hungry, lack of basic commodities and generally poor living conditions. It usually breaks my heart when my kids cry around me whenever they are hungry and I have no food to offer.
