What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
I and my wife has planned to spend KES 50000 on cattle ,KES 20000 on one cow and KES 30000 on6 goats. This investment will enable us gather enough money to buy a parcel of land in the next 3 years.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Access to social services and the presence of peace in this area has brought joy in my life.My wife and I welcomed our bundle of joy peacefully early this year and this brought joy to the family.Previously in our ancestoral home we could not access essential services such as medical care on time , this led to my son of age 4 years being affected by celebral palsy. This incident has become a life time burden to us in the family but am currently happy because I know that such incident will never recur.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest challenge currently is lack of a place to call my home.I and my family of eight was internally displaced due to clashes with the pokots in the year 2022 on the month of February. From the time we fled our home in Yatia I as the household head has been having sleepless nights about the safety and future of my family. The KES 4000 I earn from working as an herdsman in the neighboring village of Ngaratuko caters only for the basic need of my family . Therefore,my attempt to save and acquire a sizeable plot to build a house for my family has been in vain.I am so frustrated at the moment because I cannot take in the thought of risking the lives of my adorable family members by going back to our ancestoral land .
