How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different because my standard of living has changed in a postive way. This is because I no longer live a life full of debts since I managed to pay them off; I was also able to get my land back which will help relieve me from the issue of always farming on the same piece of land yearly; Given that I bought some household items that have beautified and modernized my house, I am really happy about this.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well by coming in my home and relieving me from the bitting poverty that had stricken my home. This is through giving me money that is unconditional. On the other hand, there is nothing bad that GiveDirectly has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of my second transfer to pay a debt worth Ugx 300000. I also got back my land that I had mortgaged at Ugx 400000. I then bought a goat. I spent some money to buy some house hold items such as utensils, tank, Clothing and food.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to buy land for farming. Iam married polygamously with a big number of children from other women. My family is experiencing land pressure since what is a vailable can not support the family size. Iam forced to survive through casual labouring and small scale farming. This does not produce enough food to sustain my family needs. Therefore some times my family lacks what to eat ,which may cause malnutrition.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the day is afternoon hours. My neighbours instill better devices to me on how to let other things go but put trust in God. This has changed me physiological.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of domestic animals for marrying a wife to my son. My son is always burdening me about getting married but I can not afford since Iam too poor. The woman he wanted to marry was taken back by her parents claiming that , they can not afford thier daughter staying in poor family. This has kept me out of peace with my son.
