What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am very grateful to GiveDirectly for this money. I will use this money to change my life by buying iron sheets and bags of maize. I have been living in this house for a year but it has a leaking roof. I face a lot of challenges during rainy season because I cannot sleep under a leaking roof. I also want to buy bags of maize because I do not have enough land to grow maize for food.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months I have been happy because I was able to buy some good food. I was able to buy some potatoes and made some chips which I shared with my neighbors. Having good food is the thing that brings me joy because it is very rare for me to buy good food due to lack of money.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenge that I am facing is that I do not have enough food especially during this time of the year. The money that I make buy seeling some of my farm produce is very little. Sometimes I make MK2000 in a day which I use for two days. I use this money to buy food for myself. This money is not enough that sometimes I sleep on an empty stomach.
