Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference is that I currently live in a more spacious and beautiful stone house. I can confidently invite visitors to my place with no shame at all for I am content with my house. This was not the case before the transfers were sent for many thought my house was inhabitable and they kept on asking how I survived but now their lips are full of praises of how good my house is and are even requesting for refferals of the fundi who did the work.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The excitement is beyond explanation, I first went on my knees to give thanks to the Almighty having remembered me through GiveDirectly. I sent for my brother-in-law and told him of the good news and together we rejoiced as he helped me draw a budget of constructing a house.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
When I first received the money, I bought building materials and started my house construction. I am a widow and my husband died just before we started the construction of our house. So I have been living in an old house one that my husband had built years back. This has now changed I now live in a beautiful house thanks to GD for the support this really meant alot to me.
