How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The current change in my life is that, I have self esteem because I am starting to build my permanent house in order to attain better living conditions. Before, I used to feel marginalized because I was sleeping in a grass thatched house that could not be compared to any in the village because it was dilapidated.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well in giving cash transfer to the poor without strings attached. The money has supported us to transform our living conditions from worse to better. I have not seen what GiveDirectly has not done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer for transporting bricks and sand to the site for building my house. I paid tuition for my children who had been sent out of school because of non payment. I then used Part of it for feeding and the balance of UGX 600,000, I intend to spend on starting construction work.
