How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than how it would have been if I never received the transfers in that I have bought all the pipes and started irrigation on my farm. Our area is a semi arid and we rarely get rains. We do small scale farming and the harvest that we get is only for consumption. The drought in our area also contributed to low harvest. When I received the second transfer I found it wise to invest in buying pipes to irrigate my farm. Current I do horticulture farming. I plant onions, maize and bananas. This earns me an income to meet other basic household needs including paying school fees for my children and my siblings. I am so grateful for the support because I planting all seasons without being affected by drought.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I usually do casual jobs in my neighborhood to get money for survival. At the end of the day I can only buy food enough for that day I worked only. With these transfers I would like to start keeping livestock and from their products I can be able to feed my family and sell some to my neighbors and make it a big business over time.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is usually in the evening when I have just left where I was working that day. This is because I usually have a long day working in people's homes and ending the day well means that am able to provide food for my family that day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
For the past six years in this place where we live, food crops have continually failed to reach maturity and therefore there has been no harvest. This has posed a big challenge on how am able to provide for my family since we have to buy everything including that we used to produce from the farm.
