At the moment, I working had to ensure improved productivity of my business. For over a year now, I had been hunting and selling livestock both in the nearby markets and in the village. This activity is so demanding that I have to be away from home almost daily in search of livestock to buy or take them to the market for sale. I don't have any new goal at the moment but working on this business alongside continuous subsistence farming to ensure the availability of enough foodstuff in my household.

After spending my first transfer on the construction and purchase of livestock, I was glad to receive the second transfer. I spent KES 20000 on clearing school fees for my form two sons who have currently settled down and seamlessly studying with the other students. I also spent KES 10000 on equipping all my four children with new school uniforms and other clothes they were missing. In addition, I bought new pieces of furniture worth KES 12000 for the newly completed house and used the remaining amount to buy a sheep with a lamp. I am grateful for the support and hope to see more changes going forward.

It was a few minutes to 7 am and I was getting out of bed when I received a message alert on my phone. Buying a dairy cow was our priority as a family since we needed something that we would use as a remembrance of GiveDirectly in our lives. Because of this, I spent KES 30000 from the transfer to buy one, used KES 4700 on food and clothes, and saved KES 20000 that I am planning to use in paying school fees for my daughter in secondary school. The dairy cow is a live investment to me that will enable us to earn extra income through the sale of surplus. I am a businessman and I have three children at different levels of education and our lastborn has not started school since he is still young. I am happy that with the transfer, I was able to make an investment that will later help me in educating them.
