Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was extremely happy when I got the message notification that I had finally received my first transfer. I definetly knew that my life would transform positively in numerous ways.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the fact that I now have two dairy cows that I am currently keeping in my homestead. I opted to purchase them because keeping livestock is profitable. I have always been having the desire to keep them but due to the scarce resources, I could not afford it. I have always been wished to own dairy cows for so many years but I could not afford it due to scarce resources. Through them, I will be getting milk that will be for my family consumption and this will boost their health. Also, I will be selling them remaining litres to my neighbours and get an income. I am so thankful to God for bringing GD in my life and for blessing me with such assets because they have completely changed my life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of my first transfer to buying two cows. I also bought some building materials such as building poles, iron sheets, with the aim of the renovation of my house which was in critical condition and almost collapsing. The remaining amount of money, I bought enough foodstuffs for my family and some other household items eg utensils.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My desire has been to practice livestock keeping but due to financial challenges, I have not been able to accomplish it. Receiving this transfer means fulfilling it. I will use $ 90 to purchase 3 indigenous dairy cows. This will be along with term investment hence I will be able to sell at least 15 liters in a day and earn $ 45 which will be a good source of income for my family. I will use the remaining amount to pay school fees for the whole year for my child who is about to sit for her final exams. This will enable her to study comfortably she will not be sent home due to fees arrears. I am positive that she is going to pass with flying colors.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the morning. It is at this hours when I glorify God for giving me good health to go and work so that I provide my family with there needs.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Coming from a polygamous family, I have faced numerous challenges. I am struggling a lot to cater for my family needs. I am the only breadwinner in the house. Lack of support from my family becomes my biggest hardship to face.
