What did you spend your third transfer on?
I used a portion of the transfer to pay my two children school fee. I built a kitchen with a portion of the remaining transfer. I also invested the rest in rice farming.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I now live in a descent house. My house was in a bad shape but couldn't manage to complete it due to financial constraints.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, what GD does well is that there is direct contact with the beneficiary. Apart from that, They don't disclose whether they have sent you support or not. I think what they should do too is training of beneficiaries on how to handle money.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on a steel door (7,500 KES) and also school uniform and shoes for my child (2,500 KES)
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my money was quite surreal to me; it happened that our house had just been broken into and our wooden door got badly damaged in the process. As a family we were desperately looking for money to buy a steel door for replacement but we felt hopeless since we had not succeeded. When the Transfer was sent 48 hours later , it was very timely and we rejoiced over the miracle.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I would like to use part of the money to expand my house because it can not comfortably accommodate my family. Secondly l would wish to boost my business to generate more income to support my family. Finally l would like to use the rest of the money to pay my college fees to persue he diploma in community development.
