Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I have already bought construction materials for putting an extension in my house. I will be using this room as the garage and the store for food. Previously, I could sell my harvest cheaply simply because I had no where to store it. Now that I am constructing a store, I can store my harvest and sell when the prices are high.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt great when I received the money. It confirmed to my that GiveDirectly is an organisation that keeps their word. They promised to send us money and it came.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used UGX 1,300,000 of my first transfer for buying 24 iron sheets and nails. I intend to use these materials for making an extension in my house. I used UGX 400,000 for buying a mattress and food.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to complete constructing my store. I had started constructing it, but I ran short of funds to complete it. I intend to store my food in it during the time of plenty which will make my household food secure during the time of scarcity hence household resilience.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the morning when I wake up and find my spouse in good health. Previously, my spouse was not able to eat or drink anything untill when she is now able to. That's my source of happiness.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face in my household is my wife's chronic illness that has drained all the money I had to treat her. She had been ill for two years from what was diagonised as gastric biopsy. This situation that I have been in for two years has not been able to allow me save any money which has rendard my household vulnerable.
